Farm holidays Alpe di Siusi Authentic, beautiful and delicious!
On our farm we live on dairy and livestock farming and – as a side business – we offer “farm holidays”. We have an active farm in Castelrotto, where you may even help us with the daily farm work. So you and your kids during your farm holidays in the Dolomites can get a view into our daily lives and also learn some interesting things about farming.
You are welcome to enjoy every day our fresh milk, eggs and fragrant herbs(as needed) and to take advantage of the bread delivery service.
Even a garden barbecue is available throughout the year, and in winter you can use the ski room with ski boot dryer.

Farm history Farm Zerund in Castelrotto
Our farm was first mentioned in 1502. The first owner’s name was Ulrich Dosserunder. The farm house, called “Zerundt”, consisted of barns and stables, herb garden, fields, meadows and forests. Over the years, up to today the farm changed the owner 18 times.
In March 2006, we – Walter and Judith – took over the farm from our father Richard and are now owners of the farm. In 2005 the farm was renovated. We refurbished the old apartments and transformed them into cosy and modern accommodationswith one or two bedrooms. Furthermore, we built an inviting lounge and a playroom for our young guests.
Today’s farm includes 9 hectares meadows and 4 hectares forest, a farm garden, 40 cattle, calves, dogs, pigs, cats, and several other small animals

On the Alpe di Siusi we have leased 10 hectares of meadows that are mowed each year in late July. Our farm is located above Castelrotto (“Oberdorf”) about 2.3 km from the centre and at 1,200 m above sea level. We are surrounded by a lovely landscape and enjoy a very quiet location in the midst of meadows and forests – an ideal starting point for hikes.
Customs and traditions
Throughout the spring, summer, autumn and even into the winter, in Castelrotto customs, cultural and traditional events are celebrated and lived with joy.
Two important religious processions take place in June: the Corpus Christi procession and the procession of the Patrons Saint Peter and Paul, while Thanksgiving is celebrated in the fall. The “Peasant Wedding” in January and the famous “Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride” in early summer are other events you should not miss.
