Pleasure and exercise: A hiking holiday in the Dolomites is only half the fun without Törggelen!

The colourful, wonderfully clear and consistent fall is ideal for a hiking holiday in the Dolomites. A trip to the Alpe di Siusi, the Val Gardena, the Marinzenalm, the surrounding villages of Castelrotto or to St. Oswald can be combined with traditional “Törggelen”. In the quaint courtyards and taverns you can enjoy roasted chestnuts, fresh donuts, a good glass of wine or cider and sauerkraut with smoked pork. On the 1st Saturday in October, the return of the cattle to the valley takes place, with beautifully decorated cows, horses, ponies and goats. Thanksgiving will be celebrated the next day. On the 2nd weekend in October, thousands of fans come to Castelrotto to attend the music festival of the “Kastelruther Spatzen”.
